A month of fresh energy and spring milestones. We’re pausing to cheer student achievements across AJUSD and preview what’s ahead.

Re-enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year is now open. Please complete your returning-student registration at ajusd.org/enroll as soon as you can to guarantee placement and avoid last-minute delays.
The process only takes a few minutes: log in, review and update your contact and emergency information, upload any required documents, and confirm your student’s programs or transportation needs.
Completing re-enrollment early gives our staff the time they need to finalize class rosters, plan transportation, and make the school year start as smooth as possible for every student.
Questions or stuck on a step? Your school's registrar is here to help. Reach out anytime for one-on-one support.

Mrs. Denton’s 2nd-grade class at Desert Vista Elementary became tiny detectives last month.
Students sketched and tracked their growing caterpillars, cheering every wiggle.
Before long these hungry little caterpillars will tuck into chrysalises and surprise us all as butterflies. We watch and wait! Stay tuned.

Mrs. Longacre’s 1st graders at Peralta Trail stepped back in time to compare past and present.
Students sorted everyday situations into now, then, or both, then explored real vintage items like a typewriter, lamp, and coffee grinder. It was a hands-on history lesson that made the past feel alive.

At the very end of February, the Apache Junction Performing Arts Center hosted a fundraiser concert featuring One More Night.
Thanks to the incredible support from our community, the event raised $4,800 to support the revitalization of the Cactus Canyon Junior High field.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make the night a success.

The Elementary Soccer season wrapped up in early March after many hard-fought days on the field.
Congrats to The Classical Academy at Superstition Mountain for earning the most wins. We are proud of every student for their effort, teamwork, and outstanding sportsmanship.

Ms. Kline’s ceramics students at Apache Junction High School kept it delightfully simple before break with open sculpting time.
Students made everything from pies to cuddly critters, trying new techniques and letting creativity lead the way.
We love the fearless experimentation and the total concentration on their faces as they created from imagination.
|
Early in March, Ms. Sanchez’s Dual Language 1st graders from Four Peaks Elementary brought joy to the residents of Sunrise RV Resort with a beautiful Peruvian song and dance.
The residents surprised the students with reusable cups full of healthy treats as a thank you.
We are so grateful for the kindness and ongoing support from our community partners.

AJUSD FLEX is our new flexible learning option that lets families customize school around life, not the other way around.
Families can enroll in individual courses, participate in athletics, or choose The Early Learning Center for on-campus support days, all while keeping access to certified teachers, campus activities, and the AJUSD community.
If you or someone you know might be interested, learn more at ajusd.org/flex.
Need one-on-one help? Contact your school registrar and they will walk you through the steps.

What if the money you already owe the state could stay right here, supporting the students you see at games, concerts, and classroom showcases?
The Arizona Public School Tax Credit lets you direct part of your state tax liability to AJUSD extracurricular programs like athletics, arts, clubs, and career pathways. This is not an extra tax. It is a dollar-for-dollar credit on what you already owe.
The deadline to claim this credit on your 2025 taxes is April 15. Act now so those dollars fund our students, not someone else’s district.

Apache Junction High School is opening bids for a premier scoreboard advertising placement at our football field. The back panel—highly visible from Southern Avenue—offers year-round exposure to thousands of daily motorists, plus consistent visibility at athletic events and school activities. This exclusive one-year placement is more than advertising; it’s a partnership that directly supports AJHS student-athletes and extracurricular programs.

“The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
Spring is not just a change of weather. It is the season we test what we planted earlier in the year. Buds are visible now because someone pruned, watered, and tried something new weeks ago. In classrooms that look like a student daring to try a harder problem, a teacher changing an approach after a failed lesson, or a team rehearsing one more time. Those small, brave experiments are what turn practice into progress.
This month, look for the moments that show work underway. Come to a recital, stop by a game, or ask a student what they tried again this week. Notice the refinements, not just the results. When families, teachers, and partners tend the process, students bloom. Let’s keep tending together and finish this year with purpose.
Dr. Robert Pappalardo
Superintendent, AJUSD
