Q: If a family moves mid-year, can their child stay at the same school?
A: Yes. Students may remain for the rest of the year through open enrollment, space permitting.
Q: What happens if a grade level is full?
A: Families are offered the nearest school with space, or they can join a short waitlist. We contact them as soon as a seat opens.
Q: Can a family enroll before they physically move in?
A: Yes — purchase contract or signed lease is sufficient.
Q: Do siblings get priority in open enrollment?
A: Yes. Siblings of current students are prioritized whenever possible.

Q: Which schools have STEM or technology emphasis?
A: GenTech/STEM is available at all elementary campuses and at Cactus Canyon Junior High. Peralta Trail is a STEM-focused Elementary School.
Q: Which campuses focus on leadership or character development?
A: Desert Vista Elementary is a dedicated Leadership Academy.
Q: Is dual language immersion limited to certain grade levels?
A: Currently dual language is at Four Peaks Elementary in K-1. Next year it is set to expand to 2nd grade.
Q: Are gifted or accelerated learners supported?
A: Yes. Students are screened and placed in advanced or enrichment pathways when appropriate.

A: Yes. Our small-district size typically means tighter student-to-teacher ratios and more personalization.
Q: Is there a dress code or uniform?
A: Only the Early Learning Center and Classical Academy require uniforms, however all schools follow a student dress code to promote a safe and respectful environment.
Q: What about sports and extracurriculars?
A: Our elementaries have sports programs, and students can continue through high school athletics, arts, and clubs.

A: It is space-dependent and stop-dependent. If open seats exist, transportation may be available.

A: Yes. The Early Learning Center offers Kickstart to Kindergarten, Before School Care, Toddler Care, and Developmental Preschool.

A: They may apply for open enrollment while finalizing their move. Documentation is verified at registration.
Q: How fast can new students be placed?
A: Usually within a few days of receiving records.
Q: How does AJUSD support kids switching districts after a move?
A: Principals and counselors provide transition support and acclimation planning.
