Words From Our Staff

Our Staff

AJUSD is powered by a team of amazing educators and staff who are all in when it comes to supporting our students. It’s not just a job for us, it’s a passion. Want to know what drives us? Hear from the people who make AJUSD a place where kids feel supported, challenged, and inspired every single day.

  • Michelle Iglewski, Choir Director
"AJ schools hold a special place in my heart. I have taught in 3 different states with a variety of students. I have seen many talented individuals through the years, but I truly feel some of the most talented have been at Apache Junction. Talent and a level of humbleness that is worth its weight in gold. What I mean by that is a sense of "we are all in this together” and everyone, regardless of their talent, supports each other to be their very best."
  • Sarah Mihail, Substitute
"I have loved serving at AJUSD. Every campus has made me feel welcome. Grade level teams have always been ready to help me with good materials and advice and campus admin has made sure that I had the support necessary when the need arose. We all know that students put subs to the test which makes these supports so important. The kindness and gratitude expressed by the people I serve with means the world to me. I hope they know how much I adore them."
  • Marilyn Blackburn, Receptionist
"FPES has the best spirit! The vibe around campus is so positive. Teachers and staff are appreciated and genuinely happy to be here even on tough days. We have the best SRO too! I love working at FPES."
  • FPES Teacher
"I've been with AJUSD for 8 years and live in the AJ community. My children graduated from AJ schools, and many of my students are also my neighbors. This time has challenged me to grow, learn new ways to reach students, and expand professionally. I've met inspiring students, supportive families, and amazing coworkers. Meeting our students’ needs has made these years the most fulfilling of my career—I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else."
  • Laura Angus, Registrar
"There is not a Dictionary nor a Thesaurus that can begin to describe the utmost respect that I have for my colleagues, let alone Mr. Bitterman, Mrs. Alexis Scott, and Ms. Ana Runyon. This amazing school is run by upstanding Staff at Superstition Mountain Classical Academy along with The Early Learning Center. The core values of learning, safety, as well as the overall camaraderie between Staff, Teachers, and Students is simply amazing. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!"
  • Tami Tomasetti, Lead Nurse
"Love my job and the people I work with!"
