At Apache Junction Unified School District, we are committed to expanding opportunities for our students, staff, and schools. Through local, state, and federal grants, we are able to bring additional resources, innovative programs, and specialized supports into our classrooms — ensuring every student has access to a high-quality education.
How Grants Support Our Schools Grant funding allows AJUSD to:

Current Grant-Funded Programs and Initiatives
Some of the key grants currently supporting AJUSD include:
- Title I — Providing additional academic support and resources for schools serving higher numbers of low-income students
- Title II — Supporting teacher development and professional learning
- Title III — Enhancing programs for English Language Learners
- ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) — Addressing learning recovery, student well-being, and COVID-19-related needs
- Preschool Special Education (SPED) — Supports services and resources for preschool-aged children with disabilities to ensure early intervention and access to specialized instruction.
- Career and Technical Education (CTE) — Provides funding for career-focused programs at the high school level, helping students explore trades, technical skills, and real-world career pathways.
- School Safety — Funds safety measures such as campus security, emergency preparedness, and mental health supports to promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Foundational Literacy Coach — Supports a dedicated literacy coach to help teachers strengthen reading instruction and improve early literacy outcomes for students
- Systemic School Improvement — Provides resources for schools identified for improvement under state or federal accountability systems, focusing on raising student achievement and strengthening school systems.
