Current Grant-Funded Programs and Initiatives

Some of the key grants currently supporting AJUSD include:

• Title I — Providing additional academic support and resources for schools serving higher numbers of low-income students
• Title II — Supporting teacher development and professional learning
• Title III — Enhancing programs for English Language Learners
• ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) — Addressing learning recovery, student well-being, and COVID-19-related needs
• Preschool Special Education (SPED)  —  Supports services and resources for preschool-aged children with disabilities to ensure early intervention and access to specialized instruction.
• Career and Technical Education (CTE)  — Provides funding for career-focused programs at the high school level, helping students explore trades, technical skills, and real-world career pathways.
• School Safety  — Funds safety measures such as campus security, emergency preparedness, and mental health supports to promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Foundational Literacy Coach  — Supports a dedicated literacy coach to help teachers strengthen reading instruction and improve early literacy outcomes for students
