McKinney-Vento Homeless Education

McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act

The Education for Homeless Children and Youth program, authorized under Title VII-B of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, ensures that students experiencing homelessness have equal access to education. The law is designed to remove barriers to enrollment, attendance, and academic success.

Under McKinney-Vento, eligible students include children and youth who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, as well as unaccompanied youth, those under 18 who are not in the physical custody of a parent or guardian.

Our district is committed to supporting these students by providing stability, resources, and a path to educational success.
