English as a Second Language (ESL)

English as a Second Language (ESL)

At AJUSD, we are proud to support English Learners (ELS) in building the language skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

Our Approach
We provide English language development (ELD) support for students in all grades, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English. While AJUSD does not have a formal, district-adopted ESL curriculum at this time, we use a variety of instructional resources and tools to meet students' individual language needs.

Instructional Resources

  • Raz-Kids
  • Teacher-created lessons and materials
  • Small-group and individualized language support
