Testing

At AJUSD, we use a variety of assessments to do more than just measure performance. We track student growth over time, uncover individual strengths and challenges, and shape classroom instruction to help every learner reach their full potential. These tools help us make sure students are not only meeting standards but are truly prepared for what’s next.

What Tests We Offer

  • State Assessments

We administer all required Arizona state tests, including:

  • AASA (Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessment)
  • ACT Aspire
  • ACT
  • AZELLA (Arizona English Language Learner Assessment)

 

  • Gifted Identification

We use the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) to screen students for gifted services.

 

  • FastBridge

A universal screening and progress monitoring tool used to assess foundational reading, math, and social-emotional skills.

 

  • Benchmarks

District benchmark assessments are given throughout the year to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
