Literacy and Title I

At AJUSD, we believe every child deserves a strong foundation in reading and writing. Through our literacy initiatives and Title I programs, we work to ensure all students have the support they need to succeed.

What is Title I?
Title I is a federally funded program that provides extra resources to schools with high percentages of students from low-income families. These funds help improve academic achievement, especially in reading and math.


How We Support Literacy

  • Small-group instruction and intervention for struggling readers.
  • Literacy coaching and professional development for teachers.
  • Access to high-quality instructional materials and resources.
  • Family engagement activities to support learning at home.
