At AJUSD, we are committed to building strong readers, writers, and communicators at every grade level. Our English Language Arts curriculum helps students develop critical literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading.

Curriculum by Grade Level

  • Grades K–5:

We use McGraw Hill Wonders, a comprehensive program designed to support reading fluency, comprehension, phonics, vocabulary, and writing. Wonders provides engaging texts and research-based instruction aligned to Arizona standards.

  • Grades 6–12:

We use SAVVAS (formerly Pearson), a robust curriculum that integrates classic and contemporary literature, critical reading strategies, analytical writing, and grammar development to prepare students for college and career success
