Campus Spotlights

Glory for CCJH Girls Basketball

A huge congratulations to the CCJH Girls Basketball team, who were crowned champions in September after a thrilling victory over J.O. Combs! In a hard-fought championship match, the girls displayed incredible determination, securing a dominant 27-18 win. Their season of dedication and practice culminated in this amazing achievement. We are so incredibly proud of the entire team—way to bring home the banner, girls!

Apple Stacking Activity

Apple Stacking Fun at Four Peaks

What a fun day it was for Mrs. Dixon's kindergarten class at Four Peaks Elementary! The kinders got hands-on with a hilarious activity: stacking apples on their heads!

This engaging lesson wasn't just about fun; it helped them practice counting up to 10 and hone their coloring skills. The big finale? Stacking their perfectly colored apples right on pictures of their own smiling faces! It was a day filled with laughter and learning!

Mastering the Bow at Desert Vista

Music is in the air at Desert Vista Elementary! Mrs. Chaisson's dedicated strings students have been hard at work, concentrating on perfecting their bow techniques.

They're mastering the moves with fun, descriptive exercises like spider crawls, rockets, and the classic windshield wiper! By focusing on proper form and control, these young musicians are building the foundation for beautiful music. Keep up the great practice, everyone!

Teddy Story Time

Guest Reader at The Early Learning Center

The kiddos in Miss Jennifer's class at The Early Learning Center enjoyed a special visit from Megan Carbiener of the Apache Junction Public Library.

Megan brought the fun with two great books: "The Worst Teddy Ever," complete with an adorable teddy companion, and the playful "The Book That Almost Rhymed."

A big thank you to Megan for bringing the joy of reading to our students!

Students Share AVID Success Stories

Students at Cactus Canyon Jr. High recently took time to reflect on their academic journeys by creating powerful "Because of AVID, I..." posters.

These inspiring displays highlighted the significant impact the AVID program has had on their lives, covering everything from building confidence to improving grades. It’s wonderful to see the growth and success these students are achieving through the program!

NJROTC Honors Patriot Day

Our NJROTC program held a powerful ceremony in recognition of Patriot Day to honor the lives lost and the heroes of September 11, 2001.

The NJROTC Colors Team respectfully raised the Morning Colors and then lowered them to half-staff while the national anthem played, marking a moment of solemn remembrance. The ceremony concluded with a brief reading of an excerpt from the President’s 9/11 message, reflecting on the enduring significance of the day.

Thank you to our NJROTC cadets for this moving tribute.

Messy Science! PTES 5th Graders Tangle with Oobleck

Mrs. Delong's 5th graders at PTES got delightfully messy this week, transforming into young physicists to explore the fascinating properties of matter.

In a fun, hands-on lab, students used shaving cream and oobleck to dive deep into the differences between solids, liquids, and substances that defy categorization. The big question of the day: Is oobleck a solid or a liquid? They're learning that science can be gooey, mysterious, and tons of fun!

The AJ Community Rocks! Over $6,300 Raised for CCJH Field!

Thank you community

A huge thank you to the entire Apache Junction community!

Thanks to your incredible support and generosity at the Broken Lullaby Cars Tribute Concert, we raised a total of $6,336 to benefit the Cactus Canyon Junior High field!

We are deeply grateful to Broken Lullaby - The Complete Cars Experience, all of our sponsors, partners, and every single community member who contributed. This funding will directly impact our students by improving the field and creating more opportunities for engaged learning, outdoor activities, and school pride.

Calling all AJHS Football Fans!

This year marks the momentous 50th anniversary of the Apache Junction High School 1975 State Championship Football Team, and we are planning two huge celebrations to honor their unforgettable season!

Homecoming Celebration – October 24
AJHS will first honor the 1975 team during the AJHS Homecoming game on Thursday, October 24. Team members and their families will be treated to a pre-game meal, receive free admission, and be recognized on the field at halftime in front of the hometown crowd.

State Title Game Recognition – November 29
In addition, the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) will honor the 1975 Prospectors during the 3A State Championship game on Friday, November 29, 2025. The championship site and game time will be announced soon, but plans are already in place to recognize the team at halftime before a statewide audience.

Community Compass

A Thought for October

As October arrives, bringing with it a subtle shift in the air and the collective feeling of being truly settled into the school year, our focus naturally turns from individual growth to the strength of the whole: community.

Think of a quilt, where countless small patches of different colors and textures are stitched together. Each patch is unique, beautiful, and significant on its own, but it’s the thread that binds them that creates something lasting, warm, and truly valuable.

Our schools are just like that quilt. The individual "patches" are our diverse students, dedicated staff, involved parents, and local organizations. We are all different—with unique needs, backgrounds, and dreams—but when we actively choose to stitch ourselves together, we create a powerful fabric of belonging and support.

Building community isn't a passive act; it’s the active choice we make every day to be the thread. It’s the volunteer hours spent with boosters, the quick note of thanks to a teacher, the parent who organizes a school celebration, or the student who sits with a new classmate at lunch. These small acts of connection are the essential, invisible stitches that hold our entire district together.

When our school community is strong, our students thrive. They feel safer taking risks, asking questions, and reaching for ambitious goals because they know the whole quilt is holding them up. A community built on strong connections is resilient; it can weather any challenge that comes its way.

This October, let’s strengthen the threads between us. When we stitch our stories together, a small district with a big heart becomes unstoppable. Choose connection over convenience. The success of every child in our care depends on it.
