Legendary Teacher Day was established on the fourth Thursday of September in 2014 by Nicholas I. Clement Ed. D. Dr. Clement currently serves as the Ernest W, MacFarland Citizens Chair in Education at Northern Arizona University.

Legendary Teacher Day is fast approaching – September 28th, 2023!

The Legendary Teacher Day program is designed to recognize a teacher in our lives that made a significant difference.

Legendary teachers are everywhere. In fact, it is likely that all of our teachers serve our students with legendary virtues each and every day.

Do you have a Legendary AJUSD Teacher that you would like to nominate? Your nominee can be a currently active or inactive/retired AJUSD Teacher!

Following the deadline, tributes will be retrieved from the database. A committee from the Teachers Change Brains Foundation shall select an honoree from each of the participating districts.

The chosen 'honoree' submission shall be made available to the participating District on or before October 5, 2023.

Each District Legendary Teacher Honoree (selected) will receive the following: A $200 honorarium, A certificate of recognition including the tribute from the submitter, and a signed copy of Legendary Teacher Stories - How to Catch a Swamp Frog.
