Desert Vista Elementary students had an assembly in the amphitheater to kick off the DVES Turkey Trot fundraiser. Mrs. Preston surprised the students when she rode in on a very special guest, Tom the Turkey. Students heard all about the fundraiser and the jogging event on November 21st.
Students will be running laps in the Turkey Trot on November 21st. In the weeks leading up to the event they will be working with their parents to get online sponsorships. Each student is challenged to raise $50 in sponsorship to reach the school goal. The money raised will go toward a synthetic turf upgrade for parts of the field.
The Turkey Trot is a fun and healthy way for students to raise money to improve the campus outdoor play space. Parents, siblings, and families are invited to dress up and participate in our fun fitness event with music, dancing, and maybe a few famous turkeys! If you would like to volunteer to help with our Turkey Trot Event, please call the office or message your student’s teacher.
