    Course Description:  

    Students will:

         *Demonstrate a familiarity with American and World history, Geography,   

           Government, and Economics. 

         *Analyze and evaluate current events in the context of history.

         *Demonstrate an ability to examine historical and political information through  

           critical reading and discussion.

         *Accept responsibility for pursuing an increased awareness of all social studies  

           concepts and how they impact humanity.

    7th:     American – Slavery, Industrial Revolution, Civil War, Reconstruction

               World –  Innovation and Discovery; WWI


         Government Foundations, Structures, and Functions; U.S. Citizenship; World         

         Government Systems


         Foundations; Microeconomics; Macroeconomics; Taxation



    Grading Policy:

    A  90-100

    B  80-89

    C  70-79

    D  60-69

    F  59 and below

        Grades are based on a cumulative point total. Points are assigned to quizzes, projects, tests, and classwork. The percentage of points obtained from the total will represent the quarter grade.  

    Absence Policy: If a student is absent, they will have the same number of days to make up any work missed equal to the number of days that were missed. Some assignments, due to their nature, may not be able to be made up. In this event, an alternate assignment may be given.

    Supply list: Composition Notebook, Colored Pencils, Glue Sticks. Facial Tissues & Hand Sanitizer are always needed. Thank you. 

    Classroom Procedures:

    2. Always Be Working.    A.B.W.
     *Cell phones need to be turned off and put away prior to entering the classroom.
    **Fidget spinners and other toys must be put away during class.
