My name is Mrs. Laura Folsom and as an Apache Junction High School alumna, I am so incredibly excited to be teaching at Desert Vista!

From teaching my stuffed animals and dolls at the age of 3 to making my brother “play school” with me so I could be his teacher, this is the only job I’ve ever wanted.  After years of dreaming, teaching became my reality in 2012 when I became a 5th grade teacher at Four Peaks Elementary. That school year was literally all I ever wanted.  Spending everyday molding the future of little people was truly better than I expected. I was finally in a classroom, which is where I belong.

During an unexpected break from teaching, my love of teaching only grew stronger.  My passion and enthusiasm for teaching have just been building during my time away.  My appreciation for the privilege to be a part of your lives reached a new level. I look forward to spending the next year getting to know you and watch you grow.  

I am committed to making you feel safe and welcome in our class.  We will make mistakes and learn from them. We will set goals and strive to meet them.  We will do this together, and I can’t wait.
