Mr. Michael Brown
WOW! What a end to the school year and now its just as crazy with the start of the 2020/2021 School Year! I truly believe that TOGETHER we can and will make some amazing memories, we will be able to stand back and say..."We Did It." I am excited for this new year and looking forward to getting to know each and everyone of my new students and their familes. I am always here for them and know that putting forth the extra efforts in to our jobs is the key to success. In my classroom I have high expectations and I promise you that there will be a TON OF FUN to be had in Room 18. This year will be quite the experience, not only will I be working in the 3rd Grade classroom, I will be finishing up my Masters in Administration from Grand Canyon University!
My name is Michael Brown. I have been teaching for the past 16 years in Elementary Education. Most of my career I have served in the 3rd Grade. This will be my 17th year in the classroom. I guess you can say that I may know a few things about preparing kids for the State Exam. Haha Most teachers tend to stay away from this age due to that same reason. I find it most challenging to see what they can do. I spent 20 years as an Accountant before getting laid off from my job where I was faced with a 2 year severance package and no desire to go back into that Career field. It was meant to be! I had an amazing group of educators who helped me grow my love for teachers. Mrs. Nichols, my 2nd Grade Teacher was so loving and her desire to help everyone in the classroom not to mention those whom she worked with. She made sure EVERYONE felt “special.” Mr. Smith was my 4th Grade teacher and he made learning FUN! No matter the subject, or how much we struggled in class, he was always there to tell us that “We Could Do It.” He believed in our abilities. So, during my “time off” from the corporate world, I decided that I should pursue my first love and that was to become a teacher so that I could also be one that believed and made a Difference in the lives of young people. Oh! Has it been easy? Nope! Some days are better than others but I have always led my life in the path that I am the one who makes me happy, no one can do it for me. Now with this new adventure in my path, I knew that it wasn’t going to be easy, but in the long run it would sure be worth it. I don’t do this for myself, I do this for my 4 amazing and beautiful daughters and yes I can say it, most importantly my granddaughter. She is my world. Being a father and Grandfather is the best gift anyone can ever give me. I know that I will have struggles in completing this Graduate Path but I also know that I will have the support of fellow teachers, friends, Principal and especially my family who will be there to see me grow and achieve this great accomplishment that they have been waiting for, for so long. Let the Challenge Begin!
