Things to Know:
- And so Quarter 3 commences!!! I hope y'all enjoyed your Winter Break and are ready for the start of a New Year 2019! With Quarter 3 comes a lot of events both full of fun and challenges! It's really when we need to dig our feet into the ground and brace ourselves for the coming waves. This quarter we have some fun field trips to look forward to (see upcoming events), all of course are connected to what we are learning in fourth grade. We also finish up with our learning concepts within our grade level (Geometry, Metric Measurments, Figurative Language, etc.) and begin to move into state test prepping and reviewing. February will bring District Writing Benchmarks (for all of us) and AZELLA testing (for English Language Learning students). March will bring District Post-tests for both Math and ELA, along with AIMS Science and AzMerit State Testing (End of March through April, specific dates T.B.D.). So let's pull up our sleeves and get to work! WE also are going to continue to work on building our reading skills of both fiction and non-fiction. Our goal this quarter is to read together "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen and "Indian in the Cupboard" by Lynne Reid Banks… Together if we reach for the sky and work hard I know that we can find ourselves into greatness. All it takes is a little FAITH, LOVE, and ELBOW GREASE.
- Please Remember that attendance is important for every student, because every minute is a learning minute. Every Monday, a newsletter will come home in regards to what is happening in the classroom, in addition daily/weekly posts on ClassDojo.
- Throughout the year students are held to a higher standard on monitoring their own behaviors. Parents, you can always check and monitor your students behavior progress via ClassDojo. Students earn/lose points daily based on their personal behavioral choices. It is your child's job to go home and show you their daily dojo point log and A.R. reading log.
- Our school serves (free) breakfast in the classroom where all students are provided with the option to eat breakfast. At the beginning of each month I send home the breakfast menu so that parents can see what students are being provided with during the month. If your child lost the menu and you are curious, you can access it via the image below. (plus more health conscious parents can make a more informed decision on breakfast in the mornings)
REMEMBER: I am very open to communication, as with communication I can ensure a wonderful year for your student. Feel free to contact me through ClassDojo, phone, or e-mail.On this site I will do my best to keep it up to date with what we are doing in class. This will also be a place where you will be able to find homework and other helpful information throughout the school year.
