Did you ever notice???
Little Sammy was at a Diamondback's ball game this summer when we saw the batters warming up in the on-deck circle. He observed that when they swung their bats, they put a round thing that looked like a big, fat donut, around the barrel of the bat. When it was the players turn to go to home plate, he took off the donut looking thing from his bat. Sammy asked his dad, what that donut thing was, and his dad said that it was a weight.
Sammy couldn't help but wonder, why a batter would put a weight on the bat for his practice swings?
What is the problem we need to help Sammy solve? What do we need to investigate to solve this problem?
