By law, when a school closure is being considered, a public meeting must be held for input from the community. The meetings will be: Tuesday, January 19 – Gold Canyon Elementary School – 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, January 20 – Thunder Mountain Middle School – 6:30 p.m.
The dates of public meetings to solicit citizen input regarding the possible closures of two of AJUSD schools – Gold Canyon Elementary School and Thunder Mountain Middle School - were mailed home to parents on Dec.18, 2009.

The committee was to define and determine the nature, context, audience, process, organization, and environment of learning for all Apache Junction high schools, now and tomorrow.
